Do you guys think the 2020 class is better? Try to pretend you dont know how the players from 2018 turned out. Just go off of how you felt about that at the time.

Would you rather take a guy from 2018 or 2020?

Just been watching Chase Young highlights....I'd love for the Skins to trade down, but I'd be happy with Young on the squad!

     That DL would be nasty.

Might honestly be the best in the league (especially since we're probably losing Armstead)

I'm a big fan of their interior. Payne and Allen are very good. Feel like people have forgotten about Allen. Sweat has so much potential. Throw Chase Young in there 👀

The chef analogy is arguably my favorite and one I use the most.

Basically just means you're allowed to have you're opinion.

     This escalated so quickly lol.

All I said was I dont think Taysom is a franchise guy

I apologize for the guru comment. I just saw your comment as a sarcastic type of remark/analogy in response to the statement I provided. And you know what happens when someone gets in my cross hairs. Truce?

There's going to be a rather big drop off from Drew Brees to whoever replaces him regardless. Don't see the big difference between Taysom starting or a rookie/1st year QB out of the draft starting once Brees leaves. Especially not at the draft position the Saints find them in every year (late 20s, early 30s).

They can pay to keep Taysom and still draft a QB in case it doesn't work out. Doesn't have to be one or the other.

It's no different than what any other team goes through when they swing (and potentially miss) on draft and FA QBs.

Going from the all time passing leader and future Hall of Famer to literally anyone else is going to be a drop off in results and production. It's inevitable.

The good thing about Taysom is, even if he ends up trash as a starting QB, the Saints can still get their $$$'s worth out of him by lining him up at receiver, special teams, and wherever else... While most other teams are forced to bench their failed QB projects and that's that.

This whole "the franchise is doomed if they pick Hill" point of view seems like a massive overreaction to me.. especially considering how easy it seems to be to maneuver contracts and cap numbers in a team's favor if need be.

For the Saints specifically, say Hill's a bust? What's the backup plan? There's no stud QB the Saints are passing up on to choose Hill... So even if he fails, whoever replaces him is literally a gamble anyways. Just gotta hope for the best at that point.

Maybe if they were top 10 in the draft.. but the Saints don't ever have picks like that.

I'm fine with all of that. I think the doom comes in if they give him a massive franchise caliber QB.

The way you feel about Dak is how I feel about Taysom.

I'd rather have a rookie QB on small contract than Taysom on big contract.

If Saints can get him on the cheap then great. If not, I think they should move on.

Except it wasnt a smart ass comment. It was a super simple and common analogy.

I'm not a chef but I still have opinions on food

I'm not the Saints GM but I still have opinions on Hill.

Sanu shouldnt be a QB. That's my point.

Those guys are going to be the future because they were star QBs and they're young.

Who knows, maybe Taysom will be good, but I dont think so. Turning your franchise over to a 31 year QB with little experience and 13 career passes sounds pretty foolish to me.

That’s where Namith’s point kills your argument. Rookies have zero passes coming into the league and are considered franchise QBs having thrown no passes. And u can’t say you’ve seen what Hill can do because he hasn’t shown it yet.

I responded to that. Rookies are considered franchise QBs because they are young and they were star QBs. Taysom is neither.

I never said I've seen what Hill can do. But at the same time if you criticize me for saying he wont be good even though we havent seen him, doesnt that mean the people who say he is a franchise guy even though they havent seen him should be criticized as well?

Give me a guy who has had been with the team for years and actually has some experience + learning from one of the GOATs in the game + one of the best offensive coaches in the league over an unproven star college qb.

And I agree that the ppl saying he is a franchise qb should be criticized, they have no clue either. I’m going with the franchise’s decision since they obviously know what they’re doing or have an idea on Hill’s future potential.

Chefs understand food better than I do. I still know when something tastes bad.

     Is this guru?

     Good one.

Serious question. Assuming you know more than the saints franchise regarding hill is pretty ridiculous

Yes. I have an opinion on a player. Damn I'm ridiculous. Only people within the organization can have opinions on players. What a fool i am for thinking for myself.

You mistake an opinion for a concrete statement at this point. You saying you still know when something tastes bad shows that.

don’t get sarcastic with me Colton, I’m just calling u out for your know-it-all attitude in this conversation.

You're going full rippa rn. I said multiple times maybe I'm wrong. Maybe he will be good. You're choosing to only see your side and ignoring the fact that I said at least twice maybe I'm wrong. I constantly said I think, not I know.

    Weird definition for concrete statement.

Your last statement u directly say you know the food tastes bad aka you know Taysom hill is not a franchise qb. I have no argument on whether u think he will be or not, but it’s smart ass comments like that, that make it seem like u disregard opposing views and are a know it all (like someone else in here we know). That’s all I’m saying.

this is what's so annoying about you. you take one little thing that someone says and run them into the ground. you never let it go. namtih and colton are having a civil conversation until you come in and say something condescending like "is this guru". you're so toxic.

It's worse when the point of a statement goes right over the head. 100% didnt understand what my analogy meant.

Yeah you completely misinterpreted the point.

The point is just because you're not in that profession doesnt mean your opinion is wrong.

You essentially said since I'm not with the Saints then I have no idea what I'm talking about so my opinion is invalid.

I'm not a chef. I still know what food tastes like.

Tom Brady wasn't a star QB in college.

Steve Young wasn't young when he took over in SF.

Don't know why you have so much hate for the dude. The Saints just flat can NOT afford to keep Teddy and Drew. So there is zero hope there, besides the obvious Teddy drawbacks. Taysom can be had for much cheaper (first round tender around 4.5 mil). Gives the Saints a year to truly see what Taysom has and if he's nothing worth anything, no issue. They go on to the draft next year, which will be their first full draft in a while (as of right now at least).

And Brady wasnt drafted to be a franchise guy. Steve had years of experience playing when he took over in SF.

They cant keep Teddy. That has nothing to do with anything. I think it would be foolish to have Taysom as your starter in 2021.

I've said multiple times Taysom is an exciting player. I literally just said he can kill defenses as a snap count player. I dont hate him at all.

Taysom wasn't drafted to be a franchise guy either. He was a waiver wire preseason pickup. But the Saints' staff has really liked what it's seen. That's all that matters.

That was a good rebuttal. I like Taysom. Arguably the most exciting all around player. I just dont believe he is a franchise guy. I just dont see it. I dont believe Payton sees it either. I fully expect the Saints to target someone like Jordan Love to replace Brees.

If they can keep Taysom cheap as a QB for a couple years then great. If they have to choose between giving him a top 12 QB contract or going with a rookie, I think they should go rookie.

Jordan Love is so far overrated it's not even funny. He's a gunslinger like Mahomes but without Mahomes' abilities.  I hope like hell we don't get him.  I only saw one game of his, against LSU, and was thoroughly unimpressed.

I dont know a ton about him. I just know he has a lovely arm and I think that would pair great with the Saints offense. Let him sit for a year and learn.

He's had season-ending injuries a couple years in a row, so I guess they just wanted another option (Hollister was pretty good as well)

How did I forget Hollister smh. Was so frustrating to see the Pats turmoil at TE while Hollister was out there playing really well.

Olsen is definitely an upgrade and brings a lot of leadership but just doesnt feel like a big need for the Seahawks.
