    Thats the NFLs worst nightmare.

They opposed gambling for decades. It will soon be legal across the country, and this 'allegedly' happens?

Lots of people p!$$ing themselves in the League office right now I bet.

Is it safe to say the 100th season has been ruined?

The Patriots haven't won the Superbowl, so no.

Wow, you're really gonna go there? You're just a band-wagon Pats hater.

Haha you can't take the bait every single time man, it's just too easy.

Seriously though, the Patriots winning the Super Bowl has nothing to do with whether the season is ruined or not. It's just immature griefing to get a reaction, and I think it needs to stop.

    I'll vehemently disagree.

Aside from you guys, who wants to see the Patriots IN, or WIN another Super Bowl?

I wont pretend that I dont despise them, because its obvious, but Its simply not entertaining to watch them anymore.

I think they are on the verge of ruining the sport. They're THAT much better than everyone else.

I think you're wrong, and salty. This is my childhood team, and my family grew up rooting for them. Do you have any idea how good it feels to have a team that can consistently win, no matter what is thrown at them? A team that, more often than not, will get the job done, even when nobody thinks they can?

Well I hate your childhood team with a passion

     LMAO

With the bears having been bad for a good while, I kind of enjoyed watching the pats win tbh. If the bears arent in the playoffs / super bowl I always root for them just because. Tom Brady has a crazy legacy, I want to see it get even crazier, we may never see a player / team / organization / coach better, or have as good of a legacy as them. After Brady retires I probably wont care about them though

btw I'm still going to pick something from here and do it, I have been busy with work + other things recently and have not gotten the time to do it yet. But don't worry I'm not just ignoring it.

The Rams look like shit this year. I guess that is karma for not showing up at the SB last year.

Sounds a lot like the Packers the last few years in the playoffs.........

Lmao. Atleast Rodgers won the big game and put up more than three points.

Yeah even Goffs stats alone have dropped kind of significantly this year, and I think they were probably a lot better from like the first 8-10 weeks last year than the last few. He had a 101 passer rating last year. So far this year its 80. He also had 32 / 12 TD/INT last year, this year hes at 7/7.

I'm wondering if Goff is the problem in the drop, and that its him personally playing bad, or if theres some pieces around that offense that's playing a lot worse. Goff has been kinda trash this year imo, he looked really good at the start of last year..

Honestly the whole rams team has been kinda bad. I feel like later last year they declined a lot too. I think we saw a preview of them in that bears game where they put up 6 points.. They still made it to the superbowl somehow, but I feel like they barely squeaked in, and than took a big decline from last year to this year. I kind of feel like the Rams team we saw in like the Rams Chiefs game last year is long gone..

So who won all these trades? I feel like it stinks for jacksonville, since he was a great corner, but I dont feel like they had all the pieces for this year, and could compete next year, and the picks are gonna be huge.. Idek how the rams will come out, thats a lot of trading lol, and idk about the ravens, could be decent having peters. interesting to see how this all works out.

Also, I'll give you guys the benefit of the doubt in that I feel like people are hating on the packers for the refs missing calls, which isn't right. And refs miss calls all the time, so it's not like this was an isolated invent incident. They missed plenty of eagles calls during that game as well. Although I will say, i believe both trey flowers penalties were bogus and both led to scoring drives which, one of them wouldn't have happened and the other would've had the same field goal outcome but would've given stafford 1:45ish to get into field goal range and prater was automatic last night. Also, the hit on allison should not have been a penalty. I hope allison is okay but that was not a penalty - imo, they threw the flag because he got hurt. Granted that was a first down, so they could've done something on 2nd to wind up with that field goal to make it 13-13, but my point remains - overofficiating. Also, they caught Detroit lining up with 12 guys on the field but they didn't catch GB with 13 guys on the field. Guy up in the box caught the 12 on DET, definite penalty, and on 4th down nonetheless. But he totally missed TWO extra guys for GB? C'mon man. Horrible.

Personally I think if they're going to go as far as changing the rules to challenge PI specifically to avoid game-swaying PI calls or missed PI calls, why don't they just make all called penalties challengeable? PI isn't the only penalty that can change a game outcome!

Either way, damn you guys in 1st place! And damn zadarius! That dude is a freak! Congrats on the W men

Lafluer called a timeout. I could be wrong but it's no penalty if the ball isn't snapped.

Isnt it breaking the huddle with 13 players is the penalty ?

Might be. I have no idea. Just know Lafleur called the timeout.

I dont know the play your referring to, I didnt get to see whole game, basically missed the first half, I put the rule in up above though.

    edit this the rule

During a substitution the twelfth player must be off the field before the snap. If the twelfth player is attempting to leave the field but has not done so before the snap then a penalty of "Too Many Men on the Field" will be called. This penalty can be assessed against an offending team also when there are twelve or more players in a huddle for 3-5 second or twelve or more players in formation before the play. The offending team is penalized 5 yards when a penalty of Too Many Men on the Field is assessed against them.

Yeah I agree with this. And to add on, on one of those hands to the face calls, Bakhtiari actually had his hand on flowers face mask lol.

You cant blame the packers obviously for the reffing though, and you cant just sit there complaining about the refs for the entire szn and all this and that, but I think the league should do something to try to change that, I mean that game was the difference in 1st or last place for the lions. It is what it is, I think both teams are really good teams, and both had good chances at winning.

Lol wellllll... idk about that mr davante. They're good but I can think of a few off the top of my head that are up there. I might not take all of them above jones/williams but definitely some of them.

    Gordon/ekeler

    Kamara/Murray

    Cook/Mattison

    Coleman/brieda

    White/Michel

    Cohen/montgomery

Gordon ekeler might be the best in the league, they really are good, and great pass catching. Kamara and murray is interesting, kamara is really good, and murray did look pretty good last the other day, but I havnt seen a whole ton from his recently.. Mattison meh, I think the niners have the best, uh, one two three four punch Laughing they got like, Coleman, Brieda, Mostart, and wilson LOL, white and michel are both just ok, the pats are really good at using their running backs, but neither of them are particularly amazing, I think Cohen and Montgomery compliment each other really well, as Cohen is a very explosive agility back, and montgomery is more power, but tbh Cohen hasnt been playing as well as previous years, I think he might be declining, Montgomery appears to be really good, but our run blocking kinda sucks recently. Maybe if mitch can come back strong and open up the passing game it will open up the run more. I think jones / Williams is up there, but Id still take at least Gordon ekeler over them, maybe a couple more. I got Jones in fantasy tho, traded for him, pretty happy bout that.

The only one I really noticed / know is tanner gentry. He was a bear, didnt really play much in the regular szn, he played a lot in preseason tho, I think hes been on our practice squad for a few years or something.

    also,

    6.2.5

I don't take the challenge. Neither did the Lions. Seems like I have a similar mindset to them. I guess I'm not the only one. I'm not giving away my timeouts for a pipe dream. You would. That's the difference. It is what it is. You don't need to explain the scenario. I understand football. I understand the rules. I also understand that these calls haven't been overturned even tho that's the rule. So I'm not using a challenge there. That's my choice. You're free to make yours.

    Agree to disagree. Smile

    bolded bit #1:

finding two or more people in the same thread who are cynical about nfl officiating is easy

    bolded bit #2:

the refs overturning a non-PI call has happened on less egregious calls this season. not a "pipe dream" at all, you are misrepresenting the reality of the situation.

Not worrying about the other stuff as that's between y'all. But it is a known fact that plays are NOT being reversed on PI challenges. It's become ridiculous to even have the replay ability when the refs let the calls stand repeatedly.

    https://deadspin.com/as-expected-the-nfls-pass-interference-replay-rule-has-1838976188

I dont even remember / know what call your talking about, but yeah theyre not overturning calls. Some of them have been super blatant and their sticking with the call.. It really is ONLY for a situation like the rams saints thing.. Which imo is fine, but they screwed up calling it different all pre season when it was challenged like crazy, and than switch how they call it during the szn

jk, but for real that game seemed even more bad than normal, idk it just felt off.. Like I understand making some bad calls, and having them happen to be on the same team, both those calls just seemed, almost rigged.. And IMO late in the game, anything close, or tick tacky, should not be called, like let them play dont change the game on a penalty, if its blatent call it.. That last hands to the face call was just terrible, idk what he even saw, it didnt seem like any angle should make it look like hands to the face..

idk it just seemed off.. I feel like refs have been changing games alot more than normal in the past couple years.. Will be interested to see how the league addresses last night though..
