He injured his thumb a few weeks back that might be it
Yeah that’s my guess. Something is definitely wrong with him, this is more than a slump at this point. If he’s still having trouble playing with it, he’s got to be realistic and let it heal properly. No sense in trying to be all macho and play through it, it’ll only risk further injury.
I can't believe I missed that. I wasn't able to catch innings 3-5, so I guess that's why. It's amazing he was able to turn his face a split second before he got hit so that it didn't catch him square in the mouth. Could have been much worse if it weren't for him doing that. Glad to see it's nothing serious.
Also, talk about being a savage, he stayed in the game after that too. Dude is not human.
Yeah it doesn’t make any sense to me bringing him up and then sending him down after pitching the best outing of his career. They haven’t made any official announcement yet so hopefully those reports just stay rumors.
i thought he was only up as the 26th man for the doubleheader
i have to see who they sent down or what happened
I read reports that after those 3 innings he went today, he's probably going to get sent down to Scranton and they are going to bring up another fresh arm in his place. Sounds like the heavy favorite to get the call up is either Jonathan Holder or Joe Harvey. Looks like Nestor Cortes Jr. got sent down after that double header instead of him.
did the Balk frazzle Morton so the Yankees could get to him ?
I think it helped but they already had the bases loaded
I’d say the balk definitely affected him. It wasn’t even his fault it was the catcher who tried calling time when he was already in his windup. He was one pitch away from getting out of it if Didi hit into a double play, but hey we’ll take it.
