Anybody going to a watch party? I've seen them online and thought they would be pretty cool to go to. Sadly I don't know anybody in my area that are doing one of these.
No, but I definitely wouldn't go. People tend to go to those more for the party/company element than watching. There's a woman I speak to about the show and she's the same way I am when watching something like this...there needs to be absolute silence, no questions or comments during the show and as dark as the room can get. A room full of people will not be quiet and would just distract me to where I'd be thinking about how to not rip their limbs off instead of focusing on the show.
This is exactly why I don’t like seeing suspense movies in a movie theater lol.
It seems like a cool thing to do but I am one of those who likes complete silence when GOT is on. I like to hear every detail in hopes of predicting the outcome.
Interesting episode. I was curious to see how they would do Cleganbowl and think it came out well. I was hoping for it to go different but the match delivered. The Mountain just wouldn't go down. Even a massive bolder couldn't dent him. Sandor and Arya had a good moment. Despite the whole NK thing she has had a great arc. She chose live. It was cool to see her struggle and try to help people. Makes me wonder how her story will end after the white pale horse. It means something with death (cant remember to well) so I am interested to see how it unfolds.
Vary's getting the bar b went as expected. Normally the way my mind goes in GOT is I would wonder if he was trying to poison Dany. Was the little girl just observing or trying to something more dangerous. Just observing wouldnt be a great risk nor cause for concern. That and Vary's placing items in a cup would lead me to expect some kind of attempt on Dany but the way things are going I am sure it was just intel on her health and nothing more.
The battle went as expected. Dany's team has faced impossible odds in the past and she seems to just destroy everything within seconds. Her turning mad has been pointed out in the show even though I feel she has been normal. Many great leaders have done horrible things and were not considered mad. Tywin drowned an entire city and he was a boss for doing it. I would have preferred the previews not confirm her snapping with all the voices of people talking about Targaryans going mad. Would have at least been questionable if she would turn. While I did expect her to level the buildings after the intro I didnt expect her to burn the all the innocent people. I did liked them showing Wildfire in a few spots.
As a viewer were told the bells would be the war is won. But in reality it doesn't mean anything. How would the surrender message be sent that far from the red keep during such chaos. In the battle its hard to confirm what it means. For all Dany knows it could be any citizen ringing them out of fear. So her ignoring them was ok for me. If Euron was in the city with a scorpion I doubt bells would stop him from firing at dany and I would imagine others to do the same.
The Golden Company proved Jons the man. While he makes questionable political decisions, He is sometimes fearless in battle. Jon stood there while the horses came charging during BOTB but Capt Strickland ran like a coward. For the record I would be on the running side but I am not a soldier. Strickland is supposed to be a fighter.
The Dathraki killing innocents is on par with their group but the unsullied is a twist. If you want everyone dead you send in the Dathraki, If you want only soldiers to die and absolutely no innocent you send in the unsulied. So them killing everyone confirms Dany had to give those orders. Torgo Nudho throwing the spear was understandable but out of character. His training would prevent him from doing that unless Dany told him to go wild. I expect they will cover this more in the episode guide.
While I dont enjoy seeing a possible rape scene it was good they showed a north men doing it. it shows both sides have people who dont want to fight and people who are cruel. Brienne killed 3 Northmen in the past who did some evil crimes even though the North are considered the good guys.
I have been guessing Jon will Kill Dany for a while. Both Show and book. I even expected Jon to go with the wildlings due to them mentioning it ep 4. But Jon and Torgo Nudho's staredown prior to the Unsullied going wild makes me think it could Be Dany killing Jon. If Dany is truly mad she will take Jon ordering his troops back as a form of treason. It would be an interesting twist. Not a good twist but still a twist on par with this season. It has been pointed out that the Starks dont fare well in the south. Ned, His father and brother, Rob and could Jon be next? While I dont really want Arya being the One to kill Dany this scenario could lead to her doing it. She could don Dany's face and have all the forces either sent east or poisoned like the Freys.
I am hoping for a good battle. I got a long list of people who should die. Im curious how they will do Cleganebowl. It would be amazing if the hound starts to lose the battle vs the mountain because he cant kill him. Him being afraid of fire and not believing in gods all the sudden says the prayer, lite's the sword and kills the mountain. Arya should give the gift of mercy to the hound at some point and it would be fitting if it happens after his battle. He did ask her if she would just leave him and she said maybe so It could happen. I hope Cersei doesnt die this episode. Would prefer it to happen in the finale.
LMAO! WHat's next D&D? Ep 5 Dany will forget about the Iron Throne?
This is laughable, look at that vid, they JUST talked about the Iron Fleet before they sailed to Dragonstone, now he's saying she forgot about them, what a stupid excuse. They can't even give any good answers in pre-recorded interviews because not even they know wtf they wrote.
Their answers only confirm what everyone thinks. On the inside the ep he talked about the charge led to the end of the Dathraki essentially but the next episode during the planning only half died.
