Honestly this is a little sad.. Probably 90% of people who clicked on this thread did not know what I meant by Baltimore riots. Sometimes people have no idea what is going on around them, and they don't care. We should know what is going on in our country; it affects all of us.
I grew up in North County in St. Louis, MO.and the riots there related to Michael Brown were complete horse crap. The media kept calling Ferguson a "small town" when in reality it is a crime ridden section of St. Louis where violence occurs weekly. Media kept portraying like a small minority of people were ruining otherwise peaceful protests, when in fact the final tally of damages to local businesses exceeded 5 million, and numerous companies simply closed for good no longer wanting to operate with the risks of future riots. St. Louis has lost a huge amount of it's police workforce and can't even fill the positions now because of the tension.
I get protesting for racial injustice, and changes must be made (simply putting a body camera on every officer would solve the problem IMO), but there is absolutely zero excuse for riots and as a small business owner, it infuriates me to see so many get away with these despicable acts.
Not to mention big insurance companies call these "Acts of Terrorism" and unless you specifically pay for a separate rider that covers this you are SOL regarding the inventory and damage losses because of these riots.
Not too mention these idiots are ruining their own neighborhood's infrastructure.
