Lots of Netflix posts have been made recently asking for suggestions so I was thinking about making a very detailed thread about Netflix shows, it would be set up like my fantasy profiles are. I'm a film buff so I already have a detailed list for myself so I could just re-work it and add more reviews to it and put it here. If no one is interested in that then I'm not gonna put all the work into it. Thoughts?
By day, mild-mannered Dexter is a blood-spatter analyst for the Miami police. But at night, he is a serial killer who only targets other murderers.
This is the show that opened my mind to how film should be done. From the writing, to the plots, the acting, the cinematography, and the music selection. This what made me become a film buff. It is a very suspenseful crime show that also has it's touches of comedy and raw emotions. There aren't very many times that I've cried when it comes to film but this show made me cry during certain scenes because of the gut punch emotion and acting. If you like crime shows that have you on the edge of your seat then you should really like this show.
A modern update finds the famous sleuth and his doctor partner solving crime in 21st century London.
I never planned on giving any other show other than Dexter a 10 but I just found myself constantly saying "brilliant, simply brilliant". The cinematography is very good but it's the writing and acting that makes this show stand out. Benedict Cumberpatch and Martin Freeman are huge move super stars and you don't see actors of that caliber co-starring in the small screen that often but that's what you get with Sherlock. The best way I can describe this show is by saying it's just simply brilliant.
A drama about one of New York's most prestigious ad agencies at the beginning of the 1960s, focusing on one of the firm's most mysterious but extremely talented ad executives, Donald Draper.
This show took me a bit to get into but once I got into it, I really got into it. While I was watching the show I'd think it was pretty good but when I was just thinking about it I would think it was just okay. After the first season though I fell in love with this show. It's complex and has so many layers and the acting is just superb. It tackles the issues of the 60s such as women in the workplace and hiring African American people and how people would then view a company. It also shows how every decision you make can have big ripples in the future. I thought about this show for weeks after I finished watching it and that's why it gets a 10.
A high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer turns to manufacturing and selling methamphetamine in order to secure his family's future.
First time I watched this show I just thought it was okay and gave it a 6.5. I recently re-watched it and was blown away. Even though I had already seen it, I was in suspense the whole time and just enveloped by the story. This show has some of the best acting I have ever seen and Bryan Cranston gave one of the best performances of all time in my opinion. Lots of layers and very well developed character stories that really made you feel like you were living the show. This is a show that was supposed to fail but instead went on to become one of the greatest shows of all time.
man i live on Netflix lol.. i get up very early everyday , around 2 am and have netflix on while I play MM and used MH . I love to watch shows more then movies. I try to find a show that has multiple seasons and a ton of episodes so I have something good to watch for a while. I have got so lost in series , it is amazing how caught up in a show I become.
Wentworth is a 11/10 for me . i highly recommend watching that show to anyone old enough for a mature rated show. Has a lot of violence and has swearing so it is not good for anyone young. The acting is amazing though. This past season was one of my favorites . The story is always changing and getting better and better each season.
Right now I am watching the show Supernatural. Im on the last season and only have about 4 episodes left. I am getting really upset because its almost at the final episode that I can watch until the next season comes out. I get like that when I watch a show for weeks and weeks . I feel like im losing a family member lol...
When I finished Dexter I was so upset because the show is completely over. But the worst I ever was , was after Sons of Anarchy ! That isone of the best shows to watch! i was so caught up in to that show i was putting my Tablet in to extra large zip lock bags and then hanging it in the shower so I could finish episodes !!! HAHA !! my wife said i had a serious problem with that show. I named a cat and dog after charcters from that show! When i watched the last episode i was literally sick because it was done!!
