I think its sad that so many great shows have ended like this.
Breaking Bad.. splat
Mad Men.. jumped off the building (literally)
SOA.. roadkill (literally)
Sopranos.. we don't even know how it ended...
I thought this had a chance to be the exception. In many ways, it was the worst of all.
.. wish they would have gone the movie route. I think a pair of 3-hour films would have been able to close this out much better than 6 weeks that felt like a jumbled mess.
I think this is very similar to Lord of the Rings, also. However great the movies were, it was going to be impossible to satisfy those that read the books. A movie can't tell the same story.
With fresh material, the GoT prequels should have a much better chance to satisfy the masses. IMO, anyway.
But they didn't.... and we knew they weren't going to make movies out of them. At this point, the show is over, the writing is over, everything is over. I feel like people either need to move on or bring up things they liked. The constant whining and bitching is annoying.

I read the Entertainment Weekly article with Emilia Clarke and she said that she read it seven times and that she remembers thinking "Because it came out of fucking nowhere. I'm flabbergasted. Absolutely never saw that coming" Clarke also said that she was sitting next to Kit Harington on the flight to Belfast for the final season table read and was anxious to talk about her story line but found the flight maddening because Kit deliberately didn't read the scripts so he could experience the story for the first time with all his castmates.
I completely understand his reactions after hearing what his character does.
The show runners for GOT absolutely ruined the series. If they stopped caring they should have passed the series on to someone who cared. That they’ve involved in the new Star Wars trilogy is a crime. They ruined one of my favorite TV shows of all time, no reason to give them the chance to ruin one of the great movie franchises of all time

But overall I still loved the show, you can’t honestly think the 8th season wasn’t rushed and messed up. As a reader of the books from way back, yes they left out major characters and took story lines from characters and gave them to others. Almost every adaptation does. GRRM had wanted to write something that couldn't be adapted and thought he had.
As far as Dany, the books are still back in season 5, so yes, there isn't much evidence of Dany being crazy, other than having various people killed as she did in the show.
